Abstract
In diesem Beitrag geht es ausgehend von Fotointerviews, die mit der Dokumentarischen Methode analysiert worden sind, um die Frage, wie Menschen mit Migrationserfahrungen natio-ethno-kulturelle Normen verhandeln und sich in diesem Zusammenhang auch mit Differenzen zwischen ihrer Herkunfts- und der Ankunftsgesellschaft auseinandersetzen. Dies stellt sich vor dem Hintergrund der notorischen Diskrepanz zwischen Habitus und Norm als besondere Herausforderung der Migrationslagerung dar. Ergebnis der Analysen ist, dass Migrant:innen häufig eine doppelte Diskrepanz zwischen Habitus und Norm zu bewältigen haben, die darauf basiert, dass sie nicht allein die Spannung zwischen Habitus und Norm austarieren müssen, sondern darüber hinaus unterschiedliche natio-ethno-kulturelle Normen sowohl zueinander als auch zum Habitus relationieren.
The Tension between Norm and Habitus in Migration. Empirical Findings Regarding the Negotiation of Natio-ethno-cultural Norms of the Society of Origin and of the Society of Arrival
Persons with an experience of migration are confronted with normative standards differing between their society of origin and the society of arrival. This article explodes different modes of relating the discrepant identity norms within the society of origin and the society of arrival and combines these findings with methodological reflections on the discrepancy between habitus and norm. It henceforth discusses a double discrepancy between habitus and norm as a key challenge people are facing when making a live in a foreign place.
The findings in this article are based on the analysis of photointerviews using the documentary method.
